Amends TCA Title 8, Chapter 44.
ON APRIL 9, 2024, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 2813, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 rewrites the bill to, instead, provide that one or more members of a local legislative body who meet with one or more members of the state legislative delegation that represent the county or city is not a meeting under the law regarding open meetings for governing bodies, so long as the meeting is an exchange of information and not deliberative in nature or the member or members of the state legislative delegation conduct the meeting to discuss state matters. However, a meeting under this amendment must not be used to decide or deliberate public business in circumvention of the spirit or requirements of the present law.
