ON MARCH 25, 2024, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 2537, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 rewrites the bill to require former and current district attorneys general, in order to solemnize the rite of matrimony, to opt in by filing notice of intention to solemnize the rite of matrimony with the office of vital records.
