Amends TCA Title 69, Chapter 9.
Present law prohibits any person under 12 from operating a personal watercraft upon the waters of Tennessee unless such person is under the direct supervision of an adult. This bill raises the age by prohibiting any person under 16 from operating a personal watercraft upon the waters of Tennessee unless such person is under the direct supervision of an adult. Starting July 1, 2025, this bill prohibits any person from owning, operating, or allowing another person to operate a personal watercraft upon the waters of Tennessee unless such person is able to furnish proof of financial responsibility for the operation of the personal watercraft in the amounts specified in the Tennessee Financial Responsibility Law of 1977.
