ON APRIL 19, 2023, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENTS # 2 AND 3 AND COMPLETED THE FIRST READING OF HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 13.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #2 rewrites the first resolving clause to provide that, beginning with the election held in 2030, judicial officers and all other elected county officials, except the assessor of property, are elected on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November next preceding the expiration of their respective terms of service. The term of each officer so elected is computed from the first day of December next succeeding the officer's election. Beginning with the election held in 2028, the assessors of property are elected on the first Thursday in August next preceding the expiration of their respective terms of service. The term of the assessor of property so elected is computed from the first day of September next succeeding his election.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #3 requires the amendment to be posted on the official website of the Secretary of State and on the official website of the General Assembly.<br /> <br /> ON APRIL 20, 2023, THE HOUSE COMPLETED THE SECOND READING OF HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 13.<br /> <br /> ON APRIL 21, 2023, THE HOUSE COMPLETED THE THIRD READING OF HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 13 AND ADOPTED HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 13, AS AMENDED.<br />
