Amends TCA Title 57.
This bill increases from 8 percent by weight to 10.1 percent by volume the maximum alcoholic content that a beverage product may contain and be classified as beer. This bill also specifies that a beverage product that does not exceed the alcohol by volume limit for beer is beer regardless of the process by which it was manufactured or the fruit, grain, or product from which the alcohol was derived. Under this bill, only beverages with an alcohol content of more than 10.1 percent by volume will be an alcoholic beverage. This bill also changes the alcohol content for high alcohol content beer from 8-20 percent by weight to 10.1-25.3 percent by volume.
