Amends TCA Title 49 and Title 71.

Subject to available funding, and to the extent authorized by federal law, this bill authorizes an LEA or public charter school to use temporary assistance for needy families (TANF) program funds to cover costs associated with programs in the LEA or public charter school that provide covered services to eligible students. This bill requires the department of education to do the following: (1) In consultation with the department of human services, determine which programs are eligible to be funded with the TANF program funds and publish a list of eligible programs on the department of education's public website; and (2) Work with the department of human services to establish a process through which an LEA or public charter school may apply for TANF program funds for use in an eligible program and award TANF program funds to an LEA or public charter school for use in an eligible program.
