Amends TCA Title 8, Chapter 44, Part 1.
ON MARCH 23, 2023, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENTS #1 AND 2 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 448, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 clarifies that the provisions of this bill do not apply to a meeting of a governing body, or a portion thereof, where the governing body is conducting a disciplinary hearing for a member of the governing body or a person whose profession or activities fall within the jurisdiction of the governing body; or a meeting for which there are no actionable items on the agenda. AMENDMENT #2 changes this bill's effective date from upon becoming a law to July 1, 2023.
