Amends TCA Section 18-6-105.

Present law lists the duties that the county clerk has regarding revenue. Some of those duties include the following: (1) Listing in a book all appropriations and allowances made by the county legislative body, all claims of jurors and officers for attendance, or other claims chargeable against the county, setting forth the character, description and for what purpose made, including the date and amount of the allowance, and the book and page of the minutes where the order may be found; (2) Issuing orders or certificates to the parties entitled and endorse on the orders or certificates that they have been registered in the county clerk's office. The endorsement is necessary to authorize the county mayor to issue the county mayor's warrant for the amount; (3) Making a balance sheet of revenue and disbursements of the county for the preceding year for the first meeting of the county legislative body in each year that gives the several sources of the revenue and items of disbursement plainly; and (4) Posting the balance sheet described in (3) on the outside wall of the courthouse. This bill would remove these provisions.
