Amends TCA Title 63, Chapter 10 and Title 71, Chapter 5.

Generally, present law authorizes pharmacists and health care practitioners with the authority to prescribe drugs for patients to enter into a collaborative pharmacy practice agreement whereby the pharmacist is authorized to provide certain patient care services. This bill specifies that the services authorized in a collaborative pharmacy practice agreement may include weight management services. This bill requires the bureau of TennCare to make available, or cause to be made available, anti-obesity medication to a recipient, regardless of the recipient's age, if anti-obesity medication is medically necessary.
