Amends TCA Title 38.

Present law requires that certain procedures be followed for a municipal or county investigation likely to lead to the dismissal, demotion, suspension or transfer for punitive reasons of a police officer who works for an agency that provides a property interest in employment for their police officers and that have no other established procedures for dealing with the dismissal, demotion, suspension, or transfer for punitive reasons of police officers. Generally, the procedures concern the time and place of questioning, information to be disclosed to the officer being investigated, notice of charges, and opportunity for a hearing. This bill adds investigations likely to lead to an indication of untrustworthiness of a police officer to the list of likely outcomes for which the above-described procedures must be followed. For purposes of this bill, "indication of untrustworthiness" means an agency finding that requires the disclosure of the officer's behavior to defense counsel in a criminal proceeding during which the officer's testimony is required.
