Amends TCA Title 8 and Title 16.

Present law provisions governing compensation of criminal investigators and assistant district attorneys general require all criminal investigators hired after July 1, 1994, to be compensated according to a certain pay schedule. This bill deletes this provision and instead requires, beginning July 1, 2023, that all criminal investigators be compensated according to the following pay schedule, which begins for entry-level positions, at a rate equal to 35 percent of the annual compensation of the district attorney general, and concludes, after 20 years of service, at a rate equal to 55 percent of the annual compensation of the district attorney general: Entry level $59,400 After two years $62,794 After four years $66,189 After six years $69,583 After eight years $72,977 After 10 years $76,372 After 12 years $79,766 After 14 years $83,160 After 16 years $86,555 After 18 years $89,949 After 20 years $93,343
