Amends TCA Title 1, Chapter 3 and Title 49, Chapter 2, Part 8.

For purposes of interpreting the meaning of the word "sex" throughout present law, except in statutes where the context otherwise requires, this bill defines "sex" as a person's immutable biological sex as determined by anatomy and genetics existing at the time of birth and evidence of a person's biological sex. For purposes of this definition, "evidence of a person's biological sex" includes, but is not limited to, a government-issued identification document that accurately reflects a person's sex listed on the person's original birth certificate. ON MARCH 13, 2023, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 1440, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 clarifies that "sex" is defined for the code as provided in this bill, unless the context otherwise requires.
