ON MARCH 18, 2024, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 1787, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 rewrites the bill to, by May 31, 2025 and by each May 31 thereafter, require the department of health to publish an annual report stating the total number of attempted suicides and completed suicides that have occurred in this state in the previous calendar year. The department of health must submit the report electronically to all members of the general assembly within seven calendar days of the publication.
