Amends TCA Title 49, Chapter 3.

Present law provides that under the Tennessee investment in student achievement formula (TISA), each student generates a funding allocation that includes the base funding amount, weighted allocations, and direct allocations. One such weight allocation is that a student who resides in an LEA with a membership of 1,000 or fewer students ("small district") receives a weight allocation of five percent. <br /> <br /> For the 2024-2025 school year and each school year thereafter, this bill (i) revises the definition of a small district to be an LEA with a membership of fewer than 1,000 students and (ii) adds to the present law by providing that the weighted allocation for a student who resides in an LEA with a membership of between:<br /> <br /> (1) 4,000 and 4,999 students, both inclusive, is one percent;<br /> <br /> (2) 3,000 and 3,999 students, both inclusive, is two percent;<br /> <br /> (3) 2,000 and 2,999 students, both inclusive, is three percent; and<br /> <br /> (4) 1,000 and 1,999 students, both inclusive, is four percent.<br />
