Amends TCA Title 49.
ON FEBRUARY 22, 2024, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 2058, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 makes the following changes to the bill: (1) Requires the Tennessee higher education commission to collaborate with the state board of education, along with the department of education, in conducting the study; (2) Changes the date when the report is due to January 31, 2025; (3) Requires the report to go to all education committees of the senate and house of representatives; and (4) Requires the state board of education to consider the courses identified in the report when it next takes action to revise the list of approved high school courses as a substitute for Algebra II.
