Amends TCA Title 4 and Title 49.

This bill requires the department of education to submit interpretations and directives from the U.S. department of education regarding the implementation of department rules that provide guidance to this state to the chairs of the government operations committees of the house of representatives and the senate, the chair of the education instruction committee of the house of representatives, the chair of the education administration committee of the house of representatives, the chair of the education committee of the senate, the speaker of the house of representatives, and the speaker of the senate. This bill requires the chairs of the government operations committees to disseminate the interpretations and directives submitted by the department of education to the members of the joint government operations rule review committees prior to each rule review meeting scheduled by the committee for the month following the submission of the interpretations and directives. This bill applies to all interpretations and directives of department rules implemented after July 1, 2024.
