Amends TCA Title 71.

On and after July 1, 2025, this bill provides that a minor child who is enrolled in TennCare or the CoverKids program remains eligible for those programs until the minor child reaches six, regardless of changes in circumstances. This bill prohibits the bureau of TennCare from subjecting such a minor child to a redetermination of eligibility or disenrolling the minor child from those programs unless the bureau has knowledge to indicate that (i) the minor child's parent or guardian requests the minor child's voluntary disenrollment, (ii) the minor child is deceased; (iii) the minor child no longer resides in this state, or (iv) initial enrollment of the minor child was based on fraud, abuse, or perjury in a manner that would disqualify the minor child for enrollment eligibility in those programs. This bill requires the director of TennCare to submit to the federal centers for medicare and medicaid services a request for any federal waiver the director deems necessary to effectuate this bill no later than December 31, 2024.
