ON MARCH 7, 2024, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 2403, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 makes the following changes to the bill: (1) Among the members of the medical cannabis commission that the speaker of the senate must appoint, authorizes one to be a specialist in the area of substance abuse, instead of requiring it; and (2) Authorizes the speaker of the senate, rather than requires the speaker, to select such a member from a list of three names submitted by the Prevention Alliance of Tennessee.
