Amends TCA Title 63 and Title 68.

Present law authorizes the board of pharmacy ("board") to license and register pharmacists, pharmacies, wholesalers, distributors, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy interns, manufacturers, third-party logistics providers, and other persons as may be required under federal or state law. However, this provision does not include manufacturers' representatives unless otherwise required by federal or state law. As of July 1, 2025, this bill adds to the present law by additionally authorizing the board to license ambulatory surgical treatment centers and to establish fees necessary to effectuate this bill. However, this provision does not require the licensure of an ambulatory surgical treatment center. This bill provides that an ambulatory surgical treatment center that applies to the board for licensure must designate to the board either a pharmacist-in-charge, or a medical director who is licensed as a physician, as the person who has the authority and responsibility for compliance with laws and rules pertaining to the practice of pharmacy at the ambulatory surgical treatment center.
