Amends TCA Section 11-25-109.

Present law provides that directors, officers, employees of the Doe Mountain recreation authority ("authority"), and persons designated by the authority as participants in volunteer programs authorized by the authority, are officers of the state in carrying out the duties imposed by the Doe Mountain Recreation Authority Act of 2012, and as such have the full measure of governmental immunity provided by law. However, present law prohibits such volunteers from being eligible for workers' compensation or other benefits from the state, including being members of the Tennessee consolidated retirement system.<br /> <br /> Subject to the discretion and approval of the authority's board of directors, this bill authorizes employees of the authority to be eligible to participate in all benefit programs that this state provides to state employees. Such benefits include participation in this state's retirement program, insurance options, leave benefits, and higher education fee waivers.<br />
