Amends TCA Title 4, Chapter 3; Title 7 and Title 65.
ON APRIL 1, 2024, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 2907, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 rewrites the bill to, instead, require that beginning January 1, 2025, and ending January 1, 2029, all recipients that have received state or federal grants or funding to provide broadband internet access services to unserved locations in this state must submit a report to the department by April 1st and October 1st of each year. The report must contain a list of locations for which the recipient received such state or federal funding to expand broadband access in this state that remain unserved as of the date of such report. The report must also include the date by which the recipient plans to serve such unserved locations and contact information of a representative for the recipient who may be contacted by state or county officials regarding the area for which grants have been administered.
