Tennessee HB0448 mandates that local education agencies (LEAs) and public charter schools incorporate a minimum of two hours of training each school year in evidence-based skills related to positive behavioral interventions and supports, conflict prevention, functional behavior assessments, de-escalation, and conflict management into their behavior intervention training programs. This bill changes the current encouragement of such training to a requirement and allows the training hours to count towards in-service training requirements for educators.
