Amends TCA Title 13; Title 49; Title 68 and Title 71.

Tennessee HB1175 amends existing laws regarding child care agencies by extending the requirement for local education agencies (LEAs) to report underutilized and vacant properties to include those with child care agencies. The bill grants child care agencies the right of first refusal to purchase or lease these properties at fair market value, similar to existing provisions for public charter schools. Additionally, it allows host schools to use their fire inspections to meet licensing requirements for child care agencies and mandates that local regulations treat child care family homes as residential properties.
